Enjoying the brighter side of the lockdown

,

Vacations are always a memory to cherish and remember, sometimes even for a lifetime. We enjoy time with families, attend weddings or parties with friends, and even travel to a destination of our dreams.

Many families had many of these fantastic plans, some even booked tickets ahead of time…but….then the pandemic came hitting.

Who could have imagined a global compulsory lockdown? Scary!

The confusion of being in a state of confinement with serious repercussions if you try to flout the order hit the world with great shock.

The first few days of the lockdown was for many, a kind of end. So many felt depressed, lost, and even frustrated. Then came a period of adapting to the conditions of the lockdown. Children began to learn to do home stuff indoors, parents started to learn new ways of relating to their families while at home. Thanks to the availability of the internet. Meeting new people and doing business took a different turn with live videos and webinars.

But instead of trying to over-analyze the situation, why not do the following?

Appreciate the gift of the present
In all of this confusion of still trying to figure things out, we need to find ways to appreciate the present. After all, the greatest gift we have is our ability to make good use of the present. Enjoy the moment the best way you can and prevent yourself from falling under the burden of frustration going around in the head of confused people.

Rekindle your hobbies
There is one bad thing that routine does to every one of us….it ruins our hobby.
During this lockdown, away from your normal routine, why not create time to enjoy some of the things you have passion for.

Cook a bowl of soup for your spouse.
Read a book or two about your favorite author.
Try doing yoga with a yoga mobile app. Just try something you’ve been wanting to do for quite a while.

Live and Connect
Even while you are still under a kind of lockdown (some countries are already prepping to receive visitors and travelers). You need to enjoy your existence and also influence someone near you to do the same. The world is better when we all exist and coexist in peace, and the only way to make this happen is by sharing the love of coexisting.
Connect with your loved ones even though the movement is limited.
Connect with your pets, your flowers, and nature’s gift around you.

Yes, the lockdown has taught the world a different kind of lesson – such that the world will remember for millenniums.
The opportunity that this presents to us, is to live life, appreciate each other, be grateful for the gift of nature, and live in high hopes for tomorrow.
